Initial Idea
Our initial idea was to do a part narrative and mild performance video. Having carried out research into the main stream rock genre videos, quite a few big named bands use this part narrative in their videos. An example of this would be Paramore- Only Exception.
Our narrative consisted of two parts; the couple’s life and what happened through their life with slow motion fragments of the main character being hit by a car. Throughout the entire video the lead singer (who would also be the lead character) would be on his mobile phone saying the lyrics.
After we had come up with this initial idea, we started to brain storm a few songs we could use. We looked at a variety of songs, including upbeat songs, as it would be easier to edit.

Through much deliberation we decided on Snow Patrol – You Could Be Happy. This song doesn’t have a music video of its own therefore we were not influenced by the ideas of others.
