On the day before filming, the dancers shopped to try and create the look for the dance sequence. As we had a limited budget, we looked in Primark. After searching for a while we found suitable leotards, which were feminine, yet did not expose the dancers in a promiscuous manner. We also purchased small top hats with veils attached and these, together with the leotards, matched our colour scheme of black and white, thus creating an androgynous look since there were both masculine and feminine features to the outfit. We decided to wear flat shoes as they are more conducive to dancing. Overall we had a successful shopping trip.
For the make up, we decided on dark eyes and contrasting pale faces, in order to make the dancers look more ghost like and haunting, This make up implies that the two dancers are the ghosts of the relationship. Also, the pale faces make clear references to the film Black Swan. Also, we made sure Beth's make up ran under one eye to look like tears.
